NEW YORK, NY, November 30, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- When it comes to breast implants, the cliche is true: size matters. The size of your breast implants will have a large impact on the way your entire body looks after breast augmentation, but finding the right size for you is not always easily done without the assistance of a plastic surgeon.
Nonetheless, many women prefer to gather an idea of what larger breasts may look like prior to meeting with a plastic surgeon. This can, to an extent, be done a home with some rice and a zip lock baggie.
Place 1/4 cup of rice into a zip lock baggie. Place the baggie underneath your bra and smooth it to your breast's contours. Put a shirt on and look in the mirror. If you want to go bigger, add another 1/4 cup of rice and repeat the process. Keep repeating the process until you have found a size you like. Record the amount of rice you have placed in the baggie and bring it with you to your initial breast augmentation consultation.
Talk to a Plastic Surgeon
The rice test is convenient, but not the best way to determine the best implant size for your body. Your plastic surgeon should be able to provide you with "sizers," implant-like devices that can be placed in your bra to help you visualize your results. Many plastic surgeons also offer computer imaging to give you a side-by-side of before and predicted after results.
Choosing an experience, board-certified plastic surgeon is always best. A breast surgeon with sufficient experience will be able to assess your entire frame and help you determine what size implant will best compliment your body.
