Atlanta, GA, December 5, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Janis, vice president and general manager for Cooper Bussmann, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in electronics manufacturing.

After receiving a bachelor of science in computer science in 1986 from the University of South Florida, Tampa, Coiltronics, Inc. recruited him upon graduation. Cooper Industries acquired him shortly thereafter, which is why he's been with them for 27 years. He started in engineering, working in that area for six months. He worked his way through various positions in quality and manufacturing, and was promted to director of operations position, then rotated into his sales and marketing career. He was promoted to vice president of global sales and marketing and served in this role for five years. In February of 2012, John was promoted to his current role where he runs the global electronics business for Cooper.

Throughout his career, Mr. Janis has developed exemplary management, communication and presentation skills. He has traveled the world, typically flying 200,000 miles per year. Currently, Mr. Janis works for a $200-million manufacturing company that provides electrical components and tools used in every electrical product — from cellphones to televisions. His responsibilities vary, and include sales and marketing, research and development, quality assurance and finance.

Mr. Janis is a member of the Electronic Representatives Association. In the near future, he intends to stay in this role; Cooper will be acquired by Eaton, which will open up to other opportunities. He attributes his success to hard work and perseverance. He believes it's how well you take on roles and additional responsibilities; maintain focus; and develop the right teams of people.
