Covington Who's Who Selects Tricia Lynn Strader as a Featured Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

The selection recognizes Tricia Lynn Strader's commitment to excellence in Communications.

HOLLYWOOD, FL, March 27, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tricia Lynn Strader, Journalist, Writer, Public Relations Consultant and Actress, has been selected as a Featured Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Tricia Lynn Strader's commitment to excellence in Communications.

Strader, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Goldey-Beacom College, Wilmington, Delaware, began writing short stories in junior high and later served as a writer and assistant editor for her college newspaper.

After finishing her degree, Strader worked as a freelance writer for a country music publication and weekly newspaper in her local community. An avid Country Music fan, she started her own pre-Internet regional summer concert list which she sent via subscriptions. From there, she has held positions such as office manager and columnist for a weekly newspaper in Delaware before moving to West Virginia to write for The Journal and other publications.

"I write news articles, features, health, home and garden, or people-oriented stories," Strader said. "Some of my favorite subjects to write about involve people's lives and how they make a difference, particular talents they may have, stories on history and historical homes, music, and other art as well. I really enjoy interviewing artists and musicians."

When she isn't writing, Strader does public relations work with artists and other professionals to help them market themselves and get their careers the boost or visibility they seek. She can even write business correspondence for those that need help.

Aspiring to write and publish her first book, Strader is also working on getting funding to put together a Civil War documentary that she hopes will make it to television or video someday. In addition, she is an actress, specializing in Civil War film programming and living histories. Her love of history and her own family's heritage took her into the world of acting. She was encouraged once by actor John Schneider, who saw her on stage.

One of Strader's first-person roles for eleven years is the Confederate spy Belle Boyd from Martinsburg, West Virginia. She has been on various programs on the History and Discovery Channels, including "April 1865" as Varinia Davis, the wife of Confederate President Jeff Davis. She was also in the motion picture "Gods and Generals" and has done stage work. She curated a Civil War art and special events exhibit called "Valor in the Valley" in 2010 for the Ice House Gallery in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.

Strader is secretary for the Bath-Romney Campaign Historical and Preservation Association, a living history education association based in Berkeley Springs. In 2011, the association garnered sponsorships to establish 6 Civil War Trails signs from Civil War Trails, Inc. She helped organize and manage the 150th anniversary of the Bath-Romney Campaign in Berkeley Springs in January 2012.

Strader is the Clan Campbell Society of North America West Virginia Commissioner. She is a member of the Ye Towne of Bath National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and past member of the Country Music Association, Civil War Preservation Trust, and several local Historical Societies. She is currently serving her second, two-year term as board member for the Apollo Civic Theatre in Martinsburg. Strader received a Governor's Service Award of West Virginia for Volunteer Community Service in 2008.
