The Different Kinds of Facelifts Explained

Everyone's skin ages differently. With the wide variety of facelifts available today, which one is right for you?

/24-7PressRelease/ - LOS ANGELES, CA, November 04, 2007 - Everyone shows signs of aging differently. Wrinkling and sagging skin may be concentrated in some areas from one person to another; and some will develop excess fatty deposits, while others may experience a loss of volume in the face.

"Since the aging process different from patient to patient, I provide my Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, California patients with a variety of cosmetic surgery procedures that focus on all areas of the face," says Dr. Babak Azizzadeh, an experienced Los Angeles cosmetic surgeon.

The following are several procedures that can be performed on different areas of the face to create the results you are looking for:

The brow-eye area

· Blepharoplasty or eyelift - This procedure lifts and tightens the upper eyelid area, and smoothes and eliminates bags underneath the eyes
· Brow lift - The endoscopic forehead lift gently tightens and smoothes the forehead, so that deep lines, furrows, and sagging skin are eliminated, leaving a smooth, youthful looking forehead

The mid-face area

· Facelift (rhytidectomy) - This is a full facelift procedure, where excess skin is excised in the whole mid-face area under the hair line
· Endoscopic mid-facelift - This procedure is similar to the facelift, except that it is performed using an endoscope, so that scarring is minimized
· Cheek implants - Cheek implants are solid gel implants used to improve cheekbone definition, tighten the skin and giving the face a fuller, more youthful appearance.

Lower face and neck area

· Necklift - The necklift procedure consists of procedures to excise excess sagging skin in the neck area, and may include additional steps to lift and tighten underlying muscles and remove excess fat deposits from the neck, if necessary
· Chin implants - Chin implants are solid gel implants used to give better definition to the chin, correcting for a weak chin, and bringing the lower face into proportion

When choosing a surgeon to perform your facial cosmetic surgery, it is important to find a specialist who focuses their practice on face, nose, and eye procedures like Dr. Babak Azizzadeh, a plastic surgeon located in Beverly Hills, California for an initial consultation.
