PHOENIX, AZ, August 01, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Phoenix ad agency HAPI received an AdAge Small Agency of the Year award. AdAge awarded HAPI a Silver, Southwest Region at the 2013 show. AdAge formed the national competition to recognize the innovative work being produced by small independent shops throughout the country.
Small Agency of the Year entries are graded on four criteria: agency philosophy/culture, thought leadership, business results and creative work. AdAge judges deemed HAPI to be among the best of the best in 2013, awarding HAPI Silver in the Southwest Region category. HAPI is the first Phoenix ad agency to be recognized in this national advertising competition.
"This year's competition was fierce," said Ad Age Deputy Managing Editor Rupal Parekh, one of the judges. "The number of entries was up across the board, making judging that much more difficult. Not surprisingly, the breadth of work -- whether it be for small businesses or national players -- is impressive."
Says HAPI Owner and Creative Director Jason Hackett, "We are particularly proud of this award because it serves as a testament to our unwavering belief that big ideas can just as easily come from a boutique agency of five people as they can come from a national agency of 500 people. Not only does this recognition bring welcome attention to the work being produced at HAPI, but reflects well on the work being produced in the Phoenix market as a whole."
AdAge is the leading global source of news, intelligence and conversation for marketing and media communities. AdAge started the Small Agency Awards to recognize the power of being small and independent. Entry is open to U.S. and international agencies that have 150 employees or less. Entrants must be majority-independent owned.
