Johnny Dynamo Takes Off - Fictional 80's Action Star Back In Action With A New Web Series

With the migration of television programming to the web, Nashville multimedia development group, Left Brain Digital has taken an adventurous leap to develop and produce a new web series - Johnny Dynamo.

NASHVILLE, TN, August 01, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With the obvious migration of television programming to the web, Nashville multimedia development group, Left Brain Digital has taken an adventurous leap to develop and produce Johnny Dynamo; a web series based on the life of a fictional action star. Created by Nashville musician/actor Dennis Mareno and Las Vegas transplant Joe Thomas, Johnny Dynamo is as much a comedy as it is a drama.

The Johnny Dynamo story centers around a former television action star who fell out of favor almost 25 years ago. He was by far, the biggest television star of the decade and his gritty performance as a NYC Detective garnered him countless awards, fans and celebrity. He was the toast of Hollywood until a failed publicity stunt ruined his credibility and his career. Today, he is long forgotten - until three upstart fans convince him that they can help reignite his career by using their guile, skill, and the Internet.

Written by Mareno and Thomas, the show features a host of talented Nashville actors, including newcomer Rick Wells in the lead role. Shot entirely in Nashville, the production is a collaboration between Left Brain Digital's video division, Comedy Pizza Productions and NDV Films.

"I sincerely see the Internet as the future for TV and film", said Director of Photography Ed Lamberg of NDVFilms, "I'm excited to be part of Johnny Dynamo. It's a great story and a real metaphor for where TV is headed. It's been a really fun and refreshing project, with great local actors and quality writing."

Executive Producer/ Director, Joe Thomas said launching Johnny Dynamo as a web series was the plan from the beginning. "As a web developer, we've seen television networks moving more and more toward the Internet. We're looking to build an engaged audience, and we want the interaction and flexibility the web allows us to have"

The Johnny Dynamo project is building on the idea that its audience can help drive the story.

'Why not let the viewer give us an idea on what they want to see next?" Said Thomas. "The web is interactive by nature, why not complete the circle?"

Johnny Dynamo premiers on August 1 and can be seen at www.johnnydynamo.com
