Odd Steinar Dybvad-Raneng Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Nonprofit Operations Management

Odd Steinar Dybvad-Raneng is skilled in Norwegian-American emigration history and Norwegian-Australian emigration history

COORPAROO, QLD, AUSTRALIA, September 26, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Odd Steinar Dybvad-Raneng, President of Norwegian Club of Queensland, Inc., has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in nonprofit operations management.

Odd Steinar Dybvad-Raneng recently became the president of the Norwegian Club of Queensland, Inc., a Norwegian member-based organization that provides community events. The club hosts parties, including Christmas tree parties for the children, birthday parties, cooking classes, and Norwegian classes. Holding expertise in management and organization, he makes sure the club is running correctly and maintains the website.

Mr. Dybvad-Raneng is also skilled in Norwegian-American emigration history, Norwegian-Australian emigration history, translation, interpretation, editing, and proofreading. Using these talents, he translated historical Norwegian books into English that date back to the 1800s and 1500s for Astri My Astri Publishing. Others have tried to for 10 years to do this, but haven't been able to get past the first chapter. Additionally, he translates documents from Danish to English for the Lutheran Church. A member of the Returned and Services League of Australia, is currently writing an article for the Queensland Government on Norwegian sailors.

Mr. Dybvad-Raneng served as a welfare officer in the Norwegian Merchant Navy and was given a Bronze Medal with Three Bars and a Bronze Cross with Two bars in Life Saving. He also received a Letter of Commendation from the Royal Australian Navy. An advocate for a better earth, he reminisces on the days when packages came in brown paper bag and string, everything was reused, and people would have been all the luckier to have plastic bags, which they would have washed and reused. Today, everything is disposable, and in some cases it's cheaper to buy new than to repair, such as buying a whole new printer as opposed to replacing the ink. He believes it's up to everyone to make the world a better and less violent place, and wonders if we are doing enough and soon enough. He calls upon all nations to come together to find a solution and to come to terms to save this wonderful planet called Earth. As the years progress, he plans to continue to enjoy his life in Australia.
