TAMPA, FLORIDA, October 2, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carol Mills, Educator, Tutor, Educational Consultant for Heart Mind Centre, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

Carol A. Mills has been in the education field since 1971, and was with Hillsborough County Public Schools for 37 years before retiring. She worked with juvenile delinquency programs through correction programs for juveniles in Tampa, FL, grades one through 12. She has co-authored a book on children with psychic abilities, and has developed many educational materials for children to use to expand their developing understanding of mathematical word problems. Ms. Mills has worked with students and adults with educational disabilities, and has never been recognized with such before adulthood. She also did consulting for people out of state.

For the past 30 years, Ms. Mills has been independently developing the curriculum to help students pass high school tests and courses by providing education to help them finish their coursework, eventually receiving a high school diploma and potentially a college degree. She also assists those trying to get a career certification. She attributes her success to having been taught by her family that when you are able to do something, and someone is not able to do it, your place is to help them; she was taught to share what she knew with someone who doesn't. She saw in school systems that no one was taking the time to help others, and if someone doesn't care enough to help them, then they are not going to help themselves. Ms. Mills feels that when others need help, money issues should never get in the way.

Ms. Mills became involved in her profession because of the Sunday school she attended when she was three years old. She was asked about what she thought God had planned for her, and her response was to become a teacher. It was a natural fit for her, considering her father was a deacon and her mother was a Sunday school teacher. She set her sights on becoming exactly that and obtained a master's degree in elementary education and administration from The University of Tampa and began teaching. In five years, Ms. Mills plans to continue helping others. She wants to help those in particular who did not attend high school so they do not get stuck settling for a vocational program.
