Mr. Formato has 33 years of professional experience, with 13 years as the managing director and proprietor of Format Homes. As an expert in the fields of sales and construction, he drives all aspects of the business, including training, maintaining relations with other suppliers and clients, and keeping his clients and employees happy. Mr. Formato is a former school teacher with experience in general real estate sales, building contract sales and marketing. Looking back, Mr. Formato attributes his success to his loyalty and empathy, but he stresses that his company's success is driven by his staff, which takes a great deal of pride in its work, and the company's suppliers, who consider Format Homes to be an exceptional account. Format Homes is well-organized and pays its bills on-time every time. Mr. Formato's experience in education is an asset in running the business. He also attributes his success to all those around him, the culture of his organization, and his passion for the industry and what he does.

Mr. Formato received a postgraduate diploma in education from The University of Adelaide in 1974. In addition, he has earned a science degree from The University of Adelaide. To supplement his degrees, he became a registered real estate agent, a licensed builder, and a licensed Supervisor. He is a member of various professional groups relating to his qualifications, including the Housing Industry Association of South Australia, the Real Estate Institute of South Australia, and the Master Builders Association of South Australia. In recognition of his talent and dedication, he was named Master Builder of the Year in 2007, and he has received numerous other building awards. To give back to his community, he serves as a major sponsor for a local Christmas party for special children. He is a Major (Diamond) Star Club Sponsor of St. Hilarion Nursing Home, and he contributes to various local and state sporting clubs, the Motor-Neuron Disease Association, and Macquarie University.
