The thing with marketing is that it is consistency that is key. While some clients appreciate this fact, there are many who seem disappointed that one big marketing push does not provide instantaneous results.

Studies show that results from marketing efforts come over time and that consistency is - indeed - the key. Try publishing press releases weekly, focusing on a different topic or aspect of your business each time. Send emails on a weekly basis also. As far as Twitter is concerned, many people will suggest the 'best' time to publish your tweets. However, Twitter is constantly updating and chances are your tweets may be missed by many of your followers. The person who is online, checking their Twitter feed, at 4pm will likely not still be online at 11 pm or 5 am the following morning. If you tweet just once a day, the chances are you will miss a huge percentage of your target audience.

Yet we all know that reading the same tweet, at hourly intervals, can be annoying and therefore counterproductive. The trick is to tweet at frequent intervals throughout the day - and night (not all your followers live in your time zone) - but to change your message slightly every time to avoid irritating followers who do get more than one message. Similarly press releases should be published regularly - though each time with different content. Repeating the same content in emails and press releases may result in Google treating your messages as spam. The same can be used in multiple media forms - for example, promoting a product or service through images on Instagram is effective but change the image each time so people don't get annoyed seeing the same image show up in their Instagram feed over and over again.

So - be regular, be consistent, vary your content and be patient! You will get the results you want in the long run!
