Tate Britain's Housewarming Party

An afternoon of free events to celebrate the remodelling of London's famous landmark.



    LONDON, ENGLAND, November 14, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- To celebrate the reopening of its main entrance and other areas of the Grade II-listed building, Tate Britain is inviting everyone to a free housewarming party on Saturday 23 November, from 3-10pm. Activities include headdress-making workshops run by fashion designer Emma Yeo, a treasure hunt around the gallery, short films, talks from cultural commentators from physicists to food scientists and more unusual tours of the collection with themes such as 'Queer Brittania'. London's open-mic film-night impresarios Kino will be screening films inspired by the gallery's collection and there will be an immersive soundscape by sound artist Claudia Molitor and contemporary music ensemble EXAUDI.

Children will also be entertained by performances, poetry, drop-in workshops and special events.
