Announcing Release of Medisoft Version 19 with ICD-10 Compatibility For Medical Billing Software Users

www.MedicalBillingSoftware.com announced today, Nov 13, 2013 that Medisoft Version 19 is now available for purchase and for immediate download from its site. This new release, Medisoft V19, incorporates support for the new ICD-10 diagnosis code set.

Its time to begin learning about ICD-10 and one of the first steps is getting software that will be complaint with the new system and being prepared to submit insurance claims in the new format.

TAMPA, FL, November 14, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Today marks the beginning of medical offices being able to update their medical billing software to be compatible with the new World Health Organizations ICD-10 diagnosis code set" says Harry Selent, President of MedicalBillingSoftware.com With Medisoft V19, medical offices will be able to convert a large percentage of their existing ICD-9 diagnosis codes to a GEM (General Equivalency Mapping) of a ICD-10 code number. This will allow doctor offices to easily transition to the new diagnosis code set that will be required by Oct 2014 explains Selent.

Physicians and other medical billing providers will be able to setup a Cutoff deadline for each insurance company. Insurance claims before the Cutoff date, will be filed as ICD-9 claims, and claims after the date will be sent in the new ICD-10 format.

Doctors and other medical professionals should begin NOW to learn the new ICD-10 codes, how to document for them, the areas of the office that they impact, and begin testing claim forms with the new codes," continues Selent. I know a lot of medical offices have put off learning and implementation because they dont think it will impact them much. However a recent study showed that of those medical offices that have thoroughly prepared for ICD-10, only approx. 60 percent coded correctly, and coding was taking double the amount of time says Selent.

Physicians should also be aware that CMS is mandating a new CMS1500 insurance claim form to take effect April 2014. Every medical office that has an earlier edition of Medisoft will need to update to be compliant with this new form and insurance claim format in order to be paid. The version 19 includes this new claim form.
