Atlanta Homeless Shelter Atlanta Mission Addresses Estate Planning and Charitable Donations

Several men and women's shelters in Atlanta need the assistance of your donation in order to continue with their mission of ending homelessness.

ATLANTA, GA, November 28, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- If there is a non-profit organization which has a mission that resonates strongly with you, consider giving a charitable donation during your estate planning. This is a good way to make sure your money will go towards a cause you believe in, and also helps fund the organization. Including a charitable donation in your will may also lower the estate taxes your heirs have to pay.

Most charities depend on donations and grants in order to operate. Atlanta Mission is no different. As a non-profit organization in Atlanta working to end homelessness, it has been grappling with this problem for 75 years. From a simple soup kitchen on Crew Street feeding homeless men severely affected by the depression, it has grown into a multi-facility organization that serves up to 2,050 meals a day and provides assistance to over 900 individuals every day.

According to Josh Deyton, Director of External Marketing for Atlanta Mission, "It would be very difficult to do what we do without the generous donations of our benefactors and the amazing people who keep us going year after year. Ending the problem of homelessness begins with turning people's lives around. We are able to do that each day through the tireless efforts of our volunteers and employees, as well as the donations that make all of this possible."

An Atlanta homeless shelter that has been serving the community since 1938, Atlanta Mission is committed to continuing its goal to end homelessness. It provides emergency and temporary shelter for men, women and children, as well as job training and recovery programs. It is the city's longest-running provider of shelter and services to the homeless population.
