Atlanta Mission, Charity Organization in Atlanta, to Host 5K Race at Centennial Olympic Park January 25, 2014

Atlanta Mission is hosting a 5K race to raise funds to help it fulfill its goal of ending homelessness in Atlanta.

ATLANTA, GA, January 20, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Atlanta Mission, a non-profit organization in Atlanta, is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its annual Race to End Homelessness on Saturday, January 25th, 2014. This 5K road race will take place at Centennial Olympic Park and on the streets of Atlanta.

Thanks to the success of previous Race to End Homelessness events, Atlanta Mission expects thousands of men, women and children to participate in the 2014 race. Each participant is encouraged to participate in fundraising for Atlanta Mission's Atlanta homeless shelters in addition to their donation made through their race registration fee. Registration fees and funds raised will go towards supporting Atlanta Mission's efforts to end homelessness.

Racers will run alongside many of the men, women and children who have benefited from the services and programs that Atlanta Mission and its Georgia thrift stores provide. The Race to End Homelessness gives many of these individuals something they have not previously had: a goal that they can actually reach.

"Completing the Race to End Homelessness is a fantastic opportunity for the individuals that Atlanta Mission helps," says Josh Deyton, Director of External Marketing of Atlanta Mission. "Many of these men and women have lived lives that are less than fulfilling because they have never been able to reach their goals. Being able to accomplish running a 5K gives them something they can be proud of, which can help fuel their drive to succeed."

Runners who would like to participate in the 2014 Race to End Homelessness can find more information at race.atlantamission.org. Information regarding Atlanta Mission and its ministry can be found at http://www.atlantamission.org.
