About PREP Program:

In 1988, Ms. Terri Young, former director of the Engineering Studies Program at Chicago State University, developed the Pre-Freshman Program in Engineering and Science (PREP). PREP is a pre-college program designed to motivate minority students to achieve their full potential by providing them with an educational enrichment experience that provides the solid academic preparation necessary for success in college-level math and science courses. With the generous support of the CSU Foundation, Corporate and Foundation Donors, and the STEM disciplines at CSU, the program has motivated minority students to select career options in the STEM fields at universities across the country. The Pre-Freshman Program in Engineering and Science at Chicago State University has been selected as the 2014 Pre-College Program of the Year with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).The program will receive this honor at the 2014 NSBE Golden Torch Awards Ceremony, which will be held at the NSBE National Convention.
