Feldman Orthodontics 24th Annual Scholarship Essay Competition Prepares to Award Two Local High School Seniors

Feldman Orthodontics has begun their 24th Annual "What a Smile Means to Me" Scholarship Essay Competition which will award two local high school seniors $1,000 college scholarships to the college of their choice.



Last November, I was accepted to the USF Morsani College of Medicine's class of 2017, fulfilling one of my life's dreams.

    TAMPA, FL, March 27, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Feldman Orthodontics is pleased to announce their 24th Annual Scholarship Essay Competition-What a Smile Means to Me. This one time scholarship of $1,000 was established to recognize individuals with potential to excel and become a contributing members of our community with the potential to continue with that legacy of service. Two scholarships will be awarded over all.

Dr. Randy Feldman has awarded scholarships to over forty graduating seniors from local public high schools during the past twenty three years.

Among the requirements for this unique scholarship are an outstanding essay, cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0, a minimum SAT score of 1000 or minimum ACT score of 22, letter of recommendation from their school, and letter of acceptance to college or vocational-technical institution. Applicants must be graduating seniors from a Hillsborough or Pasco County public high school. Feldman Orthodontics shares part of a recent letter of appreciation from 2009 scholarship recipient Jessica who wrote, "I was the 2009 recipient of your scholarship, and in the interim I have graduated Summa Cum Laude from USF with a 3.97 GPA and a BS and 2 BAs in Biomedical Science, Marketing, and Business Management. During graduation, I was recognized for my participation in neuroscience research as an undergraduate investigating a novel treatment for stroke. Last November, I was accepted to the USF Morsani College of Medicine's class of 2017, fulfilling one of my life's dreams."

Dr. Feldman encourages eligible students to begin their essays and to submit their applications, which must be post marked by April 16, or hand-carried to his Fletcher Avenue office by April 18. The two winning essays for 2014 will be proudly displayed on Feldman's website, and students will receive monetary awards and dinner in their honor.
