NEWCASTLE, AUSTRALIA, April 15, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Helen Keevers-Davelaar, Regional Director of The Benevolent Society, which provides human services, has been recognized by Worldwide Branding for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in her profession.

With 35 years of experience in the industry, Ms. Keevers-Davelaar has impressive expertise in strategic development, community needs analysis and program design. She is the co-author of a book on British child migration, a subject close to her heart, which was published last year.

It was four years ago that Helen brought her wealth of knowledge to The Benevolent Society when she was appointed as regional manager for the Hunter and Central Coast areas of NSW. In December 2013 she was promoted to the role of Regional Director for the Central Coast, Hunter, New England and Mid North Coast areas of NSW. Across this wide geographical area, Helen oversees programs which aim to promote community and individual wellbeing across the lifespan in high-need communities.

Successful because she values relationships at all levels, Ms. Keevers-Davelaar loves working with indigenous people and communities. They have taught her the value of relationships and from them she has learned much about survival against adversity. Likewise, she values the work she has done with survivors of sexual abuse by clergy. In 2013, Ms. Keevers-Davelaar was a key witness to the NSW Inquiry into Institutional Responses to child sexual abuse.

Ms. Keevers-Davelaar is a social worker and earned a postgraduate degree in business from Newcastle University in 2012. In 2013 she qualified as a civil marriage celebrant. Recently inducted into Worldwide Branding, she also maintains affiliations with the Australian Association of Social Workers, the Australian Celebrant Association and LinkedIn. In recognition of her accomplishments, she received a National Violence Prevention Award in 2008.
