French Chef Eric Lanlard Brings French Afternoon Tea to London

Continental Patissier of the Year gives modern twist to French classics for tea.



    LONDON, ENGLAND, May 19, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Eric Lanlard, twice winner of the prestigious Continental Patissier of the Year at the British Baking Awards, brings the A Consommer Sans Moderation afternoon tea to London, to the Jumeirah Carlton Tower, a landmark hotel situated in the heart of London's Knightsbridge.

The French chef, star of Channel 4's Baking Mad series, has a reputation for creating superlative cakes and also runs his own patisserie based in South West London, Cake Boy, which includes a stylish lounge and cookery school. For the A Consommer Sans Moderation afternoon tea, available from the end of June 2014, he will recreate French classics like crepes, croissants and tartes with a modern twist.

Indulgent dishes include a deconstructed tarte au citron meringuee, tarte aux fraises Napoleon and a Mirliton de Rouen enrubanne. Savoury dishes include a crepe parmentier with smoked salmon and chive creme fraiche and a tomato tarte tatin with tapenade.

Afternoon tea by Eric Lanlard is served at Chinoiserie, an elegant sitting room within the Jumeirah Carlton Tower, one of the top London hotels, accompanied by music played by the resident harpist. Available from the end of June afternoon tea costs GBP40 per person; GBP50 per person with a glass of champagne or GBP55 with a glass of rose champagne.

For guests arriving at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel before the end of June, Botanical Bites is the afternoon tea to indulge in, a celebration of spring which coincides with the Chelsea Flower Show (20th-24th May 2014) and features a selection of horticultural inspired treats.
