Usability, Functionality and Scalability Are Key Differentiators Among Long-Term Care Systems

KLAS report examines which long-term care solutions lead the pack.

Providers must continue to adapt to evolving regulations and industry pressures to improve the quality of care on a tighter budget.

OREM, UT, May 20, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Increased clinical and financial stresses are driving renewed urgency among long-term care (LTC) organizations to select and work with the right vendors and systems. A recent KLAS report entitled Long-Term Care 2014: Which Vendors Deliver on the Fundamentals? analyzes feedback and insights from 145 LTC organizations on how their vendors perform against key fundamentals.

Of the many factors discussed, ease-of-use (usability), functionality (including ongoing development), and ability to scale were listed as vital to these organizations' long-term success.

"With the long-term care market quickly becoming a more critical cog in the care continuum, providers must continue to adapt to evolving regulations and industry pressures to improve the quality of care on a tighter budget," said report author Erik Bermudez. "These LTC vendors and systems are key ways these organizations can keep up."

As part of this study, KLAS interviewed LTC facilities across the country about their solutions. The products reviewed included software from American HealthTech, AOD, Cerner, HealthMEDX, MatrixCare, NTT Data and PointClickCare.
