SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, June 09, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Frederick Osman, Director of Vocational Education of Trinity Grammar School has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

Dr. Osman has 21 years of professional experience, with five years as the director of vocational education at Trinity Grammar School. On a daily basis, he is responsible for educating students in physics and mathematics, as well as organizing classes for Trinity Grammar School, which is an independent grammar school that provides education for K-12 boys. The school features three tracts: international baccalaureate degrees, high school certificates, and the Trinity Vocational Academic Course.

Looking back, Dr. Osman attributes his success to his patience, as well as his knack for looking before he leaps. He is always mindful of his target audience when he makes plans. He became involved in his profession because he is passionate about nurturing students, inspiring them to take the leap into career preparation. He enjoys giving his students the skills they need to forge pathways into their chosen careers. Dr. Osman was the first educator at the Trinity Grammar School to enable expansion of the scope of its offer, and become a registered training organization: this has enhanced the curriculum options available for year 11 and 12 students, and learning outcomes through a closer association with industry by more clearly articulating the transition from school to work process.

Dr. Osman was also the first educator in Australia to initiate and package an enterprise education program to assist students seeking to undertake practical subjects within the traditional senior secondary curriculum, to expand pathways and opportunities to maximize employment and training options. He also developed policies and procedures for Vocational Education Training (VET) courses, which has improved the management and delivery of VET courses. Furthermore, he developed and coordinated vocational work placements that have helped forge links with apprenticeship and traineeship programs for students. Dr. Osman was the first educator at the Trinity Grammar School to establish partnerships with schools and principals, to develop and coordinate the first VET Network forum, and Careers Expo for teachers and students on behalf of the Association of Independent Schools.

Dr. Osman received a Certificate IV (TAE) in Training and Assessment in Vocational Education from HBA Learning Centres in 2010, as well as a graduate diploma of education, secondary education and teaching from Wesley Institute in 2007. He has also earned a Certificate in School Marketing from the Centre for Marketing Schools at the University of Western Sydney in 2004, a Doctor of Philosophy in laser plasma physics at the University of Western Sydney in 1998, a Bachelor of Science in laser plasma physics at the University of Western Sydney, where he graduated with first class honors in 1994, and a diploma from Westfield Sports High School in 1990. He was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding and also maintains affiliation with the Australian College of Educators, the Teacher's Guild of New South Wales, the Australian Institute of Physics, and the Royal Society of New South Wales.

In recognition of his achievements within the field of education, Dr. Osman has received a Head Master's Citation for Contribution to the Practice of Teaching and Learning from Trinity Grammar School in 2011, a fellowship through the Australian College of Educators (FACE) in 2009, a Certificate of Excellence from the Australian College of Educators, a Vice Chancellor's Award for Innovation and Creativity from the University of Western Sydney in 2004 and an award for excellence in research from the College of Law & Business in 2003, among many others. In years to come, Dr. Osman hopes to continue doing what he is doing now. He also hopes to develop mentorship roles within his staff.
