New 2015 Calendar Featuring Vivid HDR Images of the Neo-Gothic Architecture Found in Turn of the Century Churches

Crowdsource funding used to help bring this beautiful wall calendar to life

ANCHORAGE, AK, September 05, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This 2015 calendar highlights the stunning Gothic Revival church architecture style that was popular in America in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Photographer Matt Rowley uses High Dynamic Range (HDR) photographic techniques to capture the beauty found in the sanctuaries of these churches --something that is simply impossible to do with traditional photography.

A single photograph captures only a limited portion of the entire light spectrum range of the subject, particularly in a spacious area like a cathedral. HDR photography, on the other hand, relies on photos with different exposure times, digitally sandwiched together to capture the entire range of color and detail. Each of the pictures in this collection is created from three to five separate images, with exposure times of one second up to two minutes. Images are then aligned, and the color saturations of each layer are blended together to create the final stunning and vivid high-resolution photograph.

After numerous requests for a printed collection of these beautiful images, Rowley has chosen Kickstarter.com to help make this calendar a reality. Kickstarter campaigns operate under an "all-or-nothing" funding model, so if the project doesn't reach its goal at the end of the brief funding period, the calendar will simply not be printed.

According to Rowley, "Crowdsource funding offers the ideal solution, because everybody wins. Funding participants win because they are rewarded with their own copy of the calendar in exchange for an investment that is less than what they would pay for the same item in a retail outlet, plus they have the satisfaction of knowing that they had a hand in helping bring the calendar to life. I win, because I am able to accomplish the dream of having my pictures published and made available to people who will appreciate them."

The funding period for this project runs until October 8, 2014. Those interested can help make this calendar happen by pledging towards the funding goal. No pledge is collected, of course, unless the full goal is met. Even without a financial contribution, anyone can help freely promote the calendar by spreading the word to friends through social media networks. With successful funding, calendars will be printed and mailed to project participants before the end of November, well before the Christmas season.
