Burgess Newsom Honored for Excellence in Food Service

    BUFORD, GA, October 02, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Burgess Newsom, Executive Director of Food and Beverage for Taylors International Services, was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Branding. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.

Mr. Newsom has 25 years of overall experience, having recently become the Executive Director of food and beverage services for Taylors International Services. Over the years, he has gained the ability to develop teams in four- and five-star hotel and restaurant operations, as well as maintain a strong service model with a focus on unique guest experiences. On a daily basis, he is responsible for maintaining three separate operations while also directing events, overseeing sales, profits and losses, and working with the Iraq diplomacy operation from the U.S. government, including running three cafeterias that provide 20,000 meals per day.

Looking back, Mr. Newsom attributes his success to his passion for his work. In addition, he credits a healthy team effort. Mr. Newsom began his career serving food, then he began making it himself. Eventually, he became a manager, thereby experiencing all sides of the food and beverage industry.

Mr. Newsom's continuing education path includes accreditation work from Le Cordon Bleu International and Cornell University. He holds two certifications from the American Hotel and Lodging association: Certified Food and Beverage Executive and Certified Hotel Administrator. His achievements include Manager of the Year award for Loews Hotels, a White House recognition award for his work on the North American Summit in 2008 and he has also been the recipient of an MGM Award for excellence. In years to come, Mr. Newsom intends to continue his drive for excellence in developing remarkable teams and leaders that create sustainable success in food service operations and the communities that they serve.
