Local Author Signed to Publish New Self-Help Book on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Tate Publishing is proud to announce the signing of local author Ernest Oliphant and his soon-to-be-published self-help book P.T.S.D... What We Are Not.

DALLAS, TX, October 11, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- P.T.S.D... What We Are Not helps identify what Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is and is NOT. This book helps people to identify if they have P.T.S.D or its symptoms, and clearly identifies that you don't have to be at war to have P.T.S.D. Through the book, Oliphant aims to help readers overcome the disorder.

Oliphant's inspiration for the book comes from personal experiences and education. "People have a huge misconception of what it means to have P.T.S.D.," says Oliphant. "There is a negative stigma associated with [the disorder]... I always hear people asking about what are the signs to look for and, often don't even realize that what they are experiencing is P.T.S.D and they lose hope for recovery."

"Everyday thousands of very wealthy people pass by homeless veterans or people that have P.T.S.D...and offer them no help or assistance," shares Oliphant. "These are the very same people that have made it possible for them to feel safe in the United States of America. These are the men and women who fought for our personal safety and independence. Don't we owe them more than just passing them by and frowning at them because they/we are all misunderstood."

Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book will be available upon its release through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.

Oliphant himself has suffered from P.T.S.D. and often faced a multitude of critics for having the diagnosis. He encountered many people looking down on him or refusing to help because they thought he was a danger. This experience led him to writing this book. He is currently an active duty solider in the U.S. Army and is married to Carolina Oliphant and has two children, Miya and Noah. In his spare time, he enjoys playing drums.
