Renowned Australian Actor Will Plays a 'No-nonsense womanizer' in Art House Indie Feature 'True Face'

Adam Pedicini stars as Mick/Benny in indie feature film "True Face."

Adam's charisma and confidence made it easy for his co-stars to be natural in the scene and it certainly created electricity on screen, which is what every director dreams of!

LOS ANGELES, CA, October 15, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Adam Pedicini, one of Australia's most outstandingly versatile actors, is starring in the dual role of Mick/Benny in "True Face," an independent feature film from director Lauren Batschowanow ("Click Your Heels").

The story follows two young Sydney siders - who prefer sex over love - and who are thrust into a turn of intertwining events after meeting at a cabaret club. By the end, the mask of every person involved burns to dust to reveal their true face.

"I guess you could place True Face in the same vein as films like Closer and Doom Generation," Batschowanow said. "The world is a cocktail mixed with my experience as a young woman involved in drugs, sex and love, blended with my love of all things vaudeville such as burlesque, theatrics and cabaret."

From the Australian-based Russian Doll Productions, "True Face" is produced by Batschowanow and Igor Shmaryan ("In Transit"). Batschowanow and Christopher Price ("LARP: The Crowblade Chronicles") wrote the script. The movie was filmed in Sydney and is aiming for a 2015 festival premiere. The trailer has released and is available here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2N5f1n54kjg.

Pedicini's portrayal of Mick includes a chance encounter with the lead, Krista, played by Lauren Pegus. "Mick's a no-nonsense, pretty straight up kind of guy," Pedicini said. "He's confident. He approaches Krista at the bar and tries to pick her up. He's kind of an Aussie strong, masculine type of role. He loves to drink and is a bit of a womanizer."

But his Mick persona is an alter ego to his other side - Benny. "Adam plays what seems to be two separate characters, but as we draw the character stories together, we see the two are the same person," said Batschowanow. "The first character we meet is Benny of Benny's Weather. He is a TV weather man with charisma and optimism that surpasses most regular people. He is extremely reminiscent of a weather host on one of Sydney's popular news programs. Then we meet him as Mick the labourer - a character Benny hides behind to meet people in hopes of finding someone who likes him for who he really is."

Batschowanow and Price both act in the picture along with Tony Rahme ("Smash"), Felicity Tchorlian ("Careless Love"), Diab Metry ("1500 Steps") and Madeleine Kennedy ("Damaged").

"Adam's charisma and confidence made it easy for his co-stars to be natural in the scene and it certainly created electricity on screen, which is what every director dreams of!" said Batschowanow.

Pedicini has constructed a distinguished career as an actor and performer for film, television, commercials, theater and dance productions. The Sydney native has appeared in lead roles in "Judy Garland Slept Here" for Midsumma - Carnival in Melbourne, the Australian tour of "Patrick's Hatrick" and as Puck in the Australian Shakespeare Company's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." He's played a lead in many TV commercials including for Holden, Red Rooster, Foot Locker, Hungry Jacks and Norsca. Pedicini's leading TV roles include acting in Australia's award-winning series "Winners & Losers" and "Offspring." His filmography includes critical roles in the shorts "Against the Tide" and "Passing Through," and the Screen Media Films feature "I Now Pronounce You Vince and Ralph" starring Paul Hogan and Michael Caton.

Showcasing his talents as an all-around performer, Pedicini studied dance at Melbourne's Dance Factory and was later selected to dance aboard the P&O Cruise Line in shows choreographed by William Forsyth. Pedicini went on to perform on "X Factor" in the UK, on the LivingTV series "Dirty Dancing: The Time of Your Life" and on tour with Cascada, a Euro Dance act. He's also been the face of advertising campaigns for Tourism NSW, he appeared on the cover of GNC and was voted Hunk of the Week in the UK magazine, "OK."
