On September 27th, BlackSilk Products and CEO Desreta Jackson who is best known for playing 'Young Celie' in the Academy Award Nominated movie "The Color Purple, told their story and made history as the first beauty product company to launch a healthy haircare expo in Riverside County, California. As the story unfolds, the highly anticipated event broke race and gender barriers.
According to a staff member from BlackSilk Products, there were people from all ethnic backgrounds, both men and women alike. The men were equally as interested in the product just as much as the women were. One male attendee said, "Men care just as much about their health and hair just as much as women."
As the event was in full swing, stories of human transformation relating to the hair was shared as attendees holistically made connections and gained insight on the hair problems that brought them all together. The eyes, which tells the story of our soul was the main focus for holistic doctor of Iridology Dr. Tisa Muhammad who studies the Iris of the eyes to determine changes or imbalances within the body. Dr. Muhammad also gave complimentary medical advice to each and every guest who were anxious to reap the benefits of her expertise. In addition, Mrs. Jackson's highly sought after 30+ years of expertise and insight also helped to solve most common hair problems among guests.
