The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra Signs Exclusive License Agreement with Naxos

    KALAMAZOO, MI, October 29, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra has signed an exclusive license agreement with Naxos, the world's leading classical music group. Over fifty years of archived recordings of KSO performances will be made available over the coming years through Naxos and its group of companies, in addition to many other leading content providers, such as iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, LastFM, AT&T, and Rhapsody, among others, through Naxos' distribution network.

Through Naxos, the KSO's performances will reach audiences around the world. Beginning Summer 2015, the KSO's past recordings will become available, at affordable prices, and include concerts performed from the 1960's through performances of the current 2014-2015 season.

Founded in 1921, the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra is Southwest Michigan's premier musical organization, providing musical enrichment to over 80,000 adults and youth per year. The third-largest professional orchestra in the state, the KSO has won numerous awards and grants, including the Met Life Award for Arts Access in Underserved Communities, the National Endowment for the Arts for its extensive education programs, and a major Ford Foundation grant to found its innovative Artist-in-Residence program.
