New TV Series Beyond Geek Takes Geek to a Whole New Level

    SACRAMENTO, CA, November 05, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Seeing a lack of geek-related television, Joe Gillis decided to take matters into his own hands. With his new TV series Beyond Geek, Gillis takes us deep into uncharted geek territory, into places most of us never knew existed. From a group trying to get to space in a balloon, to people who dress up like superheroes to fight crime, Gillis introduces us to passionate people doing some very interesting things--things that go beyond typical geekdom.

"Some of the things people are doing on the show might seem quite a bit out there," Gillis explains, "but by the end of each episode, the viewers will get to see just how cool those strange ideas are."

Each episode of Beyond Geek introduces the viewers to a different subject matter. But the viewer is not alone in the experience; one of the Beyond Geek hosts joins in the adventure, while at the same time showing the viewers how they can do it themselves.

"What makes Beyond Geek different is that we throw the hosts into situations they've never done before, and they fully immerse themselves into whatever they are covering," explains Gillis. "In one episode, the host patrols the streets of Portland and San Diego with a group of real-life superheroes, and of course, he's wearing a superhero costume as well."

His is a mission to inform and persuade--with Beyond Geek Gillis aims to change the initial shock of "What the heck is this?" into a newly stirred interest in trying something new and different.
