Ernest J. Maupin Recognized for Practicing Outstanding Law

Ernest Maupin was recognized by "Best Lawyers in America" as the Lawyer of the Year in Trusts and Estates Law (2013) and the Lawyer of the Year in Tax Law (2012), both in the Reno metropolitan area.

    RENO, NV, December 03, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ernest Maupin, Attorney of Maupin, Cox & LeGoy, A Professional Corporation, has been recognized by Worldwide Branding for showing dedication, leadership, and excellence in his profession.

With 41 years of legal experience and in his current role, Mr. Maupin has demonstrated a specialty in estate planning. In the coming years, Mr. Maupin plans to start scaling back and working only one or two days per week.

Mr. Maupin became involved in his profession because he majored in accounting as an undergraduate, earning a Bachelor of Science, with high distinction, from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1968. He was awarded the Outstanding Graduate in Accounting award. He was encouraged by the Dean of Students, whose opinion he highly respected, to go to law school. It turned out to be a wonderful decision. He obtained a JD degree from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1971, and also became a CPA in 1973.

Recently inducted into Worldwide Branding, Mr. Maupin also maintains affiliations with the Nevada State Bar, the California State Bar, the American Bar Association, the Estate Planning Council of Northern Nevada, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel.

He has many achievements, including being listed in the "Best Lawyers in America" in Trusts and Estates Law, Tax Law, and Nonprofit Charities Law since 1987. In addition, his firm is a Martindale-Hubbell Top Rated Law Firm (2014); he was recognized by "Best Lawyers in America" as the Lawyer of the Year in Trusts and Estates Law (2013) and the Lawyer of the Year in Tax Law (2012), both in the Reno metropolitan area.

Mr. Maupin is also a very accomplished golfer, having won the Nevada State Amateur Championship in 1987. He was also the president of the Nevada State Golf Association, the president and vice-president of the Northern Nevada Golf Association, and a member of the Sectional Affairs Committee of the United States Golf Association. He is a trustee of The Marshall R. Matley Foundation and a trustee of The Arthur and Mae Orvis Foundation. He has also been a member of the Professional Advisors Council of the Community Foundation of Western Nevada since 2000; and he was a member and chairman of the University of Nevada, Reno Foundation Planned Giving Advisory Council from 2003 to 2010.
