Janice Doreen Sherk Recognized for Excellence in Logistics Administration

    BURLINGTON, ON, December 05, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Janice Sherk, Vice President of the Security Department at UPS Canada Limited, has been recognized by Worldwide Branding for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in her profession.

In recognition of her achievements during her 25-year career, Ms. Sherk has been widely recognized by Worldwide Branding. Earlier this year, she was named a Top Female Executive, and also garnered her second Executive of the Year award. She has also been featured in Worldwide's online newsletter, and was previously named an Elite American.

These honors are due to the expertise Ms. Sherk has shown in airline regulation and international security operations. Her duties in her current role of 10 years at UPS are managing regulatory compliance for airline security and provide airline security leadership to all concerned parties within the organization. She is also oversees the development of strategies for security processes and procedures that safeguard employees, facilities, and assets. In her position she works with federal and local law enforcement to ensure compliance with government regulations.

In the future, Ms. Sherk intends to grow professionally and further her education, which already includes a Bachelor in Organizational Security and Management (2014) and an associate degree in business administration from Brock University (1982).

Ms. Sherk attributes her success to her determination, dedication and goal-oriented nature. She became involved in her profession through her interest in aviation security management. She earned a Cargo Loss Prevention Certification and is also a licensed broker.

She also maintains affiliations with the National Air Security Training & Awareness Commission and is a member of the Canadian Courier and Logistics Association as well as the executive co-chairman of the Woman's Leadership Development committee. She was the executive chair for the United Way campaign in 2008, and her efforts netted her a Thanks-a-Million Award. Charitably, she supports the Elisha House. In her spare time, she mentors at the local youth club and spends time with her family.
