Hue Grant Chosen as First President of Reform Canine Breeding and Auctions (RCBA)

Grassroots effort to reform the breeding of canine companion animals to ensure kind, humane and medically sound practices.

Every dog raised by a breeder is a living, breathing soul that deserves to be treated with kindness.

FORT WORTH, TX, December 17, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Entrepreneur Hue Grant has been chosen as the first president of Reform Canine Breeding and Auctions, a focused, funded, strategic effort to stop inhumane dog breeding practices.

"It's past time to begin to improve the lives of the companion animals we all care about," said Hue Grant, an award-winning architect, a civic activist and a long-time supporter of rescue efforts for a variety of breeds.

"Every dog raised by a breeder is a living, breathing soul that deserves to be treated with kindness. Every dog should be bred using only medically sound practices," said Grant. The group believes that registration of breeders and sensible regulation are the best first steps to improving the lives of dogs in the hands of breeders.

"Whether at a puppy mill or at a backyard breeder, there are some people who don't have the compassion needed to be in the dog-breeding business, said Grant. "We see registration and regulation as the best way to get these people to reform or to seek some other line of work," said Grant.

"RCBA has created a vision, mission, and plan to accomplish its goals of registration and better regulation of for-profit dog breeders. RCBA has attracted people from every walk of life who are ready to contribute their talents to making this effort a success," said Grant.

The group will have its first organizational, planning and board meeting in January in Dallas. Following that meeting, it will be finalizing its legal entity and nonprofit status, soliciting donations and others to help, and going to work on the business plan.

RCBA is seeking applicants to serve on its board and talented volunteers who are passionate about bettering the lives of dogs to fill other leadership roles.
