LOS ANGELES, CA, December 16, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The compelling civil rights feature film drama Freedom Summer is slated to go into production in late 2015.

Based on true events, Freedom Summer follows a group of college students from the North as they go down to Mississippi during the volatile summer of 1964 in an attempt to register African Americans to vote. The film highlights the violence and corruption during this dark period in American history, and how the tenacity and courage of America's youth played a vital role in changing the civil rights movement forever.
