    KENSINGTON, MD, January 26, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Montgomery Orthopaedics Physician, Harrison Solomon, MD, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in the field of orthopaedic hand and upper extremity surgery.

For more than 12 years, Dr. Solomon has been nurturing an abundant skill set, which consists of a myriad of strengths in the areas of orthopedic surgery. Dr. Solomon subspecializes in the treatment of acute and chronic conditions of the hand and upper extremity. This includes fractures, tendon injuries, and sports injuries - as well as chronic conditions such as arthritis, rotator cuff injuries, tennis elbow, and nerve problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome. "My greatest satisfaction as a physician is interacting daily with people, and helping them get better. Seeing the patients' pain decrease, and their function improve is very rewarding," he says.

Beyond patient care, Dr. Solomon has become a leader in his field - recognized perennially by his peers in multiple publications as a "Top Doc" the field of hand and upper extremity surgery. He also has been elected as Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Dr. Solomon completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and residency training at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He earned his MD from New York University and got his undergraduate degree in biology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and has an additional board certification in surgery of the hand and upper extremity. Dr. Solomon was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry for his exemplary demonstration of skill and dexterity on the surgical platform. He is also an active fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Solomon was named a Five-Year Honoree of the Patients' Choice Award, and was also granted with a Compassionate Doctor Award.
