Peter Diamandis, Dematerialization, and Electronic Invoicing

In Peter Diamandis' new book, Bold, he discusses how dematerialization is key to the transformation of entire industries. One example of dematerialization is electronic invoicing: the evolution from paper invoices to electronic data.

TORONTO, ON, January 25, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Peter Diamandis has released a new book called Bold, where he discusses disruptive technology trends and how entrepreneurs can put their vision into action.

"40 percent of today's Fortune 500 companies will be gone in ten years. Products and services are being dematerialized and demonetized. The entrepreneurs who win are those who can think exponentially." - http://www.boldbook.com

One area that is experiencing dematerialization is the processing of paper invoices. According to the Electronic Invoice Adoption Benchmark Report by PayStream Advisors, 24% of survey respondents were currently utilizing electronic invoicing in their financial operations.

Companies such as EchoVera that provide purchase-to-pay solutions to their customers are helping organizations dematerialize their accounts payable processes by implementing electronic invoicing.

Ralf Leitner, President of Echovera, said, "Progressive organizations in Canada and the U.S. are joining what has been a huge trend in Europe, and that is moving away from paper invoices. Any paper or emailed invoice can be processed for less than the price of a cup of coffee - with fewer errors or misplaced documents. The savings to the organization is more than just cost, as the time savings is extremely impactful as well."

The benefits of electronic invoicing are numerous. A report sponsored by Ricoh Europe and published by Billentis Research states that e-invoicing could save businesses as much as 80% compared to existing, paper-based methods. According to PayStream Advisors, every one million invoices sent by email and processed electronically saves 133 trees. And that same amount of invoices represents a footprint of 36 tons of carbon dioxide (C02).
