History Associates Hires Veteran Art and Museum Collections Manager

Industry veteran Marlene Worhach has joined History Associates as a new Program Manager for collections management services.

    ROCKVILLE, MD, January 27, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- History Associates is pleased to welcome Marlene Worhach as new Program Manager for collections management services. In her new role, Ms. Worhach is responsible for client service, business development, and staff development. She advises clients on all aspects of managing art and artifact collections, including program and system assessments, inventory and cataloging, and appraisal and conservation.

Ms. Worhach has more than twenty years of experience in the management of museum and fine art collections, and her expertise in conservation practices will add a new dimension to the firm's service capabilities.

"I came to know Marlene when we worked together on a project to move a massive collection of artifacts for a national museum," noted Dr. Brian Martin, president of History Associates, "This was a very complex undertaking with many moving parts and I was impressed by her knack for solving problems and getting things done - and all with good humor."

Prior to joining History Associates, Ms. Worhach was Director of Marketing and New Business at ARTEX Fine Art Services, where she was responsible for devising and implementing sales and marketing strategies for the company. She has also held marketing and management roles at a number of fine art management companies. She began her professional career in conservation, serving as a painting conservator at the Yale University Art Gallery and the Baltimore Museum of Art.

She holds a Certificate of Advanced Study (C.A.S.) from Harvard University Art Museums Straus Center for Conservation, an M.A. and C.A.S. from State University College at Buffalo in the Conservation of Artistic and Historic Objects, a B.S. in Biological Science from the University of California at Davis and a B.A. in Studio Art from California State University, Long Beach.
