Bay Area Street Performance is the Focus of Upcoming Art Style Coffee Table Book

Patreon Campaign Announced To Raise Funds To Create Multi-Media Art Book Project Focusing on Bay Area Street Musicians

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, January 29, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Producer and music journalist Heather Jacks, author of The Noise Beneath the Apple , (TNBTA ), announced today the launch of a Patreon campaign to raise funds for her new Limited Edition Art Style/Coffee Table Book & multi-media project, celebrating the Bay Area's street music culture and busking scene. In 2013, Jacks' first project in the series, (TNBTA : New York Edition), won a Book of the Year Award in Performing Arts & Music.

"I like Patreon, because it is patronage in a literal sense; and patronage allows us, supporter & artist--to create together," explains Jacks. "Patrons pledge specific, recurring dollar amounts per month and this is the essence of patronage. Also, it's a company and concept born, bred and thriving right here in our City by the Bay."

In addition to creating an over-sized collector's edition art-style book full of high quality photographs and intimate stories from groundbreaking buskers (street musicians) in the Bay Area, Jacks' project also includes an ongoing blog, video series, and music in both digital and vinyl formats; and an upcoming a remake of a 'San Francisco-centric' single. The recording will be arranged by Best Revenge Records recording artist Keaton Simons, and co-produced with New Orleans style pianist/Yamaha Trainer & Demonstrator, Gabriel Aldort. The track will feature an accordion, shredding violins, cello, harmonica, banjos, and even a washboard. "Think Michael Jackson's 'We Are The World' meets Bay Area street musicians," says Jacks. The New York single, (a remake of Billy Joel's New York State of Mind) was released on Esquire.com in 2014.

"Busking is one of the oldest cultures around," says Jacks. "It pre-dates the Roman Empire and the Latin Language. It is a time honored tradition that needs to be preserved and legitimized. My home is San Francisco, so I am honored to replicate this project here."

Proceeds from the Patreon campaign will cover production costs including; Editing, Copy-editing, Proof Reading, Cover Art, Photography, Book Design, ISBN, Creation of slipcase, Over-sized Printing, the multiple-use licensing of the single and the entire recording process including studio rental and staffing, the editing, mixing and mastering of the track, and the production of the finished product. Patreon supporters can choose from an array of awards including first copies of the book, behind the scenes events, videos, MP3 downloads, eBooks and much more.
