Reform Canine Breeders and Auctions (RCBA) Names Beth Palmer VP of Regulatory Research and Analysis

Kim Colacchio to Serve as Regulatory Research Analyst

For RCBA to be successful in achieving its mission, it cannot alienate any groups, breeders and pet stores included."

MEDINA, OH, February 03, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Reform Canine Breeding and Auctions (RCBA) is a new not-for-profit dedicated to ensuring that dogs in the hands of commercial breeders are shown kindness, treated humanely, and bred using only medically sound practices.

"Before we can begin to urge more humane treatment, RCBA needs to understand the stakeholders and know what has worked and not worked in previous attempts to reform dog breeding," said Beth Palmer, RCBA's VP of Research.

Palmer, who has spent 13 of her 15 years in public accounting at KPMG and currently works in its Regulatory Center, became interested in efforts to improve canine breeding after having owned two puppy-mill-bred dogs who both needed several significant surgeries before their first birthdays.

"The reform cause is personal, but I'm pragmatic," she said. "For RCBA to be successful in achieving its mission, it cannot alienate any groups, breeders and pet stores included," Palmer added.

RCBA Regulatory Research Analyst Kim Colacchio is president and founder of Bradford Associates, an executive search firm that specializes in permanent placement of senior sales and marketing executives for food manufactures.

Colacchio is attracted to RCBA because of its focused, business-like approach to improving conditions for all dogs. "RCBA isn't breed specific because all dogs deserve to be bred humanely," she added.

"The experience I have had as president of an executive search firm will be helpful at RCBA because we will need to build lasting relationships with stakeholders and operate in a collaborative, non-emotional, fact-driven way," said the executive.

"We are blessed to have so many talented individuals willing to give time and treasure to this cause," said RCBA President Hue Grant.
