Local Nonprofit Provides Complimentary Laundry Services to Bradenton Residents

The Laundry Project partners with local facilities and provides the detergent, softener and funds necessary to wash the linens and clothes of lower-income residents.

TAMPA, FL, February 21, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Current of Tampa Bay will host its third Laundry Project for Manatee County residents Saturday, Feb. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Super Matt Coin Laundry located at 3106 Cortez Rd. West.

The Laundry Project partners with local facilities and provides the detergent, softener and funds necessary to wash the linens and clothes of lower-income residents. To date, the Laundry Project has assisted more than 5,000 families and has washed nearly 48,000 loads of laundry.

"Each event, whether at a new or previous location, provides an opportunity to impact lives," said Current President, Jason Sowell. "Many people take the luxury of clean clothes for granted and the Laundry Project helps instill a sense of confidence in the families we serve."

Shoreline Church in Bradenton is fully funding the project and staffing the volunteers. Local community members can also get involved by making donations of much-needed supplies including detergent, quarters (rolls of $10), 1-gallon Ziploc bags, garbage bags, coloring books, crayons, fabric softener and laundry baskets. More information about this event can be found online at http://www.LaundrybyCurrent.org.
