Dr. Eric Fassbender leads VR Users into the Future of Virtual Reality with the Release of Second Virtual Relaxation Atmosphaere - A Walk on the Beach

After the amazing success of his first Virtual Relaxation Atmosphaere, Dr. Eric Fassbender releases his second Atmosphaere for users of the Samsung Gear VR and other VR headsets.

"As long as people benefit from living a stress-free life with the help of my Atmosphaeres, I'll continue making them," Dr. Fassbender promises.

ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA, February 22, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Eric Fassbender is attributed for giving us the world's very first 360 degree Virtual Reality Relaxation video, Dream Beach 360, in January 2015. Since then, Dream Beach 360 has been widely popular with people who realize that the Samsung Gear VR and similar VR headsets can be used very effectively for virtual travel and relaxation in beautiful places. Today Dr. Fassbender releases his second Virtual Relaxation Atmosphaere - A Walk on the Beach.

Continuing to serve people suffering from stress, pain and anxiety, Dr. Fassbender made the trip to Port Noarlunga in South Australia in order to capture and record its sights and sounds so that they can be stitched into a 360 degree spherical video ready for use in VR. 'A Walk on the Beach' is the result of the sometimes long and tedious process of producing, editing and preparing these virtual relaxation videos.

"It's worth it," says Dr. Fassbender when asked about the process. "When people call or email me telling me how their lives have changed once they've started spending 15 or 30 minutes watching Dream Beach 360, I know that I've found an amazing way to help people deal with their stress or pain" he follows.

Recorded at the quiet and picturesque beach of Port Noarlunga in South Australia, A Walk on the Beach features a stunning location that is known for its pristine waters and soothing qualities. Despite its closeness to South Australia's state capital, Port Noarlunga is one of Adelaide's best kept secrets for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. A Walk on the Beach brings anyone from around the globe to Port Noarlunga so they too can soak up the relaxing Atmosphaere of Australia's Beaches paired with calming and soothing music.

Just like with the first Atmosphaere, you can use the Samsung Gear VR in order to watch A Walk on the Beach. You can also use the Oculus Rift or another VR headset. If you don't have a VR Headset, you can use your home computer, even if this is not as immersive as a VR headset. Like Dream Beach 360, A Walk on the Beach is also available in two versions. For your powerful computer and the Gear VR you can download the 4k version that runs at 30 fps with a 15 Mbs encoding rate. For a less powerful computer or mobile phone, the 2k version is recommended which runs at 24 fps with an 8 Mbs encoding rate.

You can download A Walk on the Beach today starting at $5.99 for the 2k version and $7.99 for the 4k version. This is half the price of Dream Beach 360 so it satisfies the request of some customers who asked for a lower price. A Walk on the Beach is a little less than half as long (12 minutes) as Dream Beach 360 (30 minutes), so it is clearly aimed at those who have less time available but still want to escape to the beach quickly, e.g. in their lunch break.

As a professional photographer and nature sound recordist, Dr. Fassbender regularly ventures into some of the most relaxing environments in the world and he states that this is only the second of many more of his Virtual Relaxation Atmosphaeres that he will be releasing in the future.

"As long as people benefit from reducing their stress, pain and anxiety with the help of my Atmosphaeres, I'll continue making them," Dr. Fassbender promises.

Dr. Fassbender's Virtual Relaxation Atmosphaeres are 360 degree video environments that help people to escape the hustle and noise of their busy lives and find some peaceful & quiet places to unwind from their stresses. Atmosphaeres don't just virtually transport you to another place but actually make you - feel - like you are in fact at the other, calming place. Atmosphaeres are best experienced in a Virtual Reality Head-mounted Display (HMD) like the Samsung Gear VR, the Oculus Rift or other HMD's. However, you can also experience the feeling of 'being there' on your desktop computer or your mobile phone or tablet.

Dr. Eric Fassbender holds a PhD in Virtual Realities. After discovering that highly immersive Virtual Realities are not very conducive to learning (at least in 2009 when highly immersive Virtual Realities were still a novelty) he discovered that they can instead be used very successfully for pain, anxiety and stress reduction. With his Atmosphaeres, Dr. Fassbender is the first researcher to offer readily available full-length 360 degree Virtual Relaxation videos for pain, anxiety and stress reduction to end users of VR Headsets like the Samsung Gear VR or Oculus Rift.
