Clay Oven Celebrates Advent of Spring with Traditional "Holi" Menu

Irvine restaurant salutes traditional Indian holiday with special week-long menu



    ANAHEIM, CA, March 07, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Holi is a spring festival also known as the festival of colors or the festival of love and this year will be celebrated on March 6th. It is a traditional Indian festival that has become popular worldwide wherever Indians have settled. In celebration of Holi, Clay Oven, the critically acclaimed Indian restaurant in Irvine, will offer some traditional foods customarily served at Holi from 6-13th March announced Executive Chef/Owner Geeta Bansal. The menu includes:

· Pani Puri (chickpea puffs) with sour beer and sweet chutney ($10)

· Yogurt curry with dumplings ($16)

· Chana Bhatura Masala (chickpeas in a traditional masala sauce) ($16)

· Bhujia (pastry turnovers) stuffed with cherry, dry fruits and coconut ($12)

Though Holi typically embraces a vegetarian menu, the Clay Oven will modify the offerings to include Lamb Keema Mattar (minced lamb curry with peas) ($24) and Kath Katha (spicy chicken cooked in a tandoor oven) ($20).

Holi usually celebrated outdoors is a spectacle in and of itself complete with the explosion of colored powders , water-balloon fights, lively music, dancing and other forms of merriment.
