LOS ANGELES, CA, March 16, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Los Angeles based artist Rosalind McGary has been commissioned by the Archdiocese of New York to create original artwork for permanent display in newly restored Sheen Center. The site specific piece will be installed in the fall of 2015.

McGary's piece tells the story of Our Lady of Loreto on a series of four wooden panels. The hand- painted piece features beading and gold leaf detail on text and images. The panels will custom-fit around a column prominently featured in the lobby. The story of Our Lady of Loreto, is the name designated to the house that Mary, the mother of Jesus grew up in. Prior to the Sheen center the site was host to the parish Our Lady of Loreto. The commissioned piece will memorialize the parish and the story of the house.
