Protect Yourself And Your Family With Uninsured Motorist Coverage

ATLANTA, GA, March 17, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Please take a moment to read this post. In the unfortunate event that you or a family member are in a car wreck, it could ensure you are protected from potential financial hardship. The minimum liability insurance limits in Georgia are $25,000 per person and $50,000 per collision. This means that if your family of four are hit by a drunk driver with minimum insurance limits, the most you will be able to recover in liability insurance is a total of $50,000, no matter how severe the injuries to you and your loved ones and no matter how much work you are forced to miss. Given the cost of healthcare, any injuries sustained by your loved ones will likely exceed that amount of insurance coverage. And if you are forced to miss work or permanently injured as a result of the wreck, you are assured not to be fully protected.

There is a relatively inexpensive way to protect you and your families from drivers with little or no insurance coverage and that is through the purchase of adequate uninsured motorist coverage. Uninsured motorist coverage protects you and your family not only when a driver who hits you has no insurance coverage, but also when the person that hits you does not have enough insurance coverage to compensate you for the injuries and financial losses you sustained through no fault of your own. Compared to liability insurance coverage, uninsured motorist coverage is cheap, and it is there to protect you and your family members.

Please take time to call your insurance agent or look at the amount of uninsured motorist coverage you currently have. We recommend that you have a minimum of $100,000 per person/$300,000 per incident in uninsured motorist coverage and, if you can afford it, much more. Many people don't think of this until something bad happens and by that time it is too late to protect yourself. You should also make sure to elect "add on" uninsured motorist coverage and not "difference in limits" uninsured motorist coverage. That ensures that you and your family are protected by the full amount of your uninsured motorist coverage.

Please do not wait to do this.
