New Sci-fi Novel Finds an Overwhelming Response in India

Author expresses delight in level of overseas interest.

PHILADELPHIA, PA, March 25, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- First-time author Richard Van White, Jr. takes readers on a journey across galaxies to explore many of mankind's classic struggles in The Eleventh Commandment (376 pp, $14.95).

While marketing his new Science Fiction entry, Richard was amazed at the level of response from the people of India. "We've certainly found a massive new audience," says Van White Jr., adding that "it's very rewarding to find so many Indian readers showing a strong interest in The Eleventh Commandment."

When asked if he saw a film adaptation for his work in the future, Van White Jr. says, "I think like many authors, particularly of this genre, one can't help but ultimately want to see the story translated to the big screen."

Richard Van White, Jr. has long been fascinated by space travel and the mysteries of the universe. His love affair with science fiction began while watching Star Trek on a black and white television in 1969, the same year that man landed on the moon. He soon developed a voracious appetite for all things sci-fi--from classics by Robert A. Heinlein and Frank Herbert to Doctor Who, Space 1999, and the Star Wars Trilogy. This is Richard's first science fiction novel, and one he hopes will inspire an entire generation of young African American authors to look up and say 'What if?"

He resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania but also spends considerable time in Maryland with extended family.
