In the course of his daily duties, he concentrates in the areas of employment discrimination and harassment matters, employment litigation, mediation, collective bargaining, wage and hour matters, OSHA claims and arbitration. His excellence in the field is supported by a JD from Southern Methodist University (1978) and a degree from Dartmouth College (1975), where he graduated cum laude. While at SMU, Joe Yastrow served as an editor of the Southwestern Law Journal and was elected to membership in the Barristers, the law school's most prestigious honor society.
Joe Yastrow has published articles and lectured extensively on a wide array of employment topics and is a leading authority on employment practices liability insurance. Joe Yastrow is a certified mediator through the Center for Dispute Resolution at DePaul College of Law. He was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and also maintains affiliation with the American Employment Law Council and The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
Additionally, Joe Yastrow holds key positions with major organizations in his field, such as the labor law section of the ABA and management co-chair of the Employment Practices Liability Insurance Subcommittee for the ABA. Outside of his professional career, he was a founding executive board member for the Children's Brittle Bone Foundation, and currently is an active volunteer for the AntiCruelty Society where he works in dog care and adoptions.
