VANCOUVER, BC, April 22, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- From May 21st to May 24th, 2015, CharlesArts will bring to Canada their exhibition from Los Angeles titled "Armed with a Perspective."
The artist behind CharlesArts is Los Angeles artist Charles, a 7th grader who is waging war against urban violence by bringing guns into art galleries. Charles started painting landscapes, seascapes and palm trees at age 5. In 2011, he wrapped a toy rifle in newspaper clippings of violence and mounted it on a canvass of similar news articles. His anti-violence message stands strong in his artwork which has been featured in art shows in Los Angeles, New York, and Miami.
"I'm honored to participate as an exhibitor for the first ever Art! Vancouver show. It's going to be a great opportunity for not only myself as an artist, but for all other artists participating. I can't wait to see what others are doing in the art world and be inspired by my peers," said Charles Gitnick, Artist.
Art! Vancouver will be host to a world-class art event, featuring reputable art galleries and artists from across Canada and around the world. The goal of this event is to connect the international fine arts community under one roof and showcase their collection of beautiful art, while exposing attendees to a vastly diverse collection of original, one-of-a-kind artwork.
Charles has exhibited his art from the boardwalk of Venice Beach, California to the artist lined streets of Soho in New York City, to the prestigious Art Basel week in Miami. His inspired pieces have resonated with the young and adults alike. His story and work have been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Huffington Post, New York Daily News, Sydney Morning Herald, just to name a few.
Art! Vancouver is expected to be one of the largest art exhibitions ever put on in Western Canada. The event will bring dealers, private and commercial collectors, and art aficionados together and put Vancouver on the map as one of the places to hit for international art.
