Dr. Whiting brings 23 years of experience to his role with Allegheny Health Network. Throughout his career, he has been trained to perform highly technical surgeries to correct disorders of the central, autonomic or peripheral nervous systems. Serving as the chairman of the neurosurgery department, Dr. Whiting works for seven system hospitals with 20 neurosurgeons, and he has been utilizing advanced techniques in deep brain stimulation for more than 17 years. Drawing on his extensive skill set, Dr. Whiting helps treat patients with OCD, Parkinson's, and movement disorders, such as dystonia essential tremors, while offering motion preservation, artificial joints and discs, spinal fusion, and tumor removal services.
Dr. Whiting received an MD from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa. in 1985. He was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and is consistently ranked as one of America's Top Doctors by Castle Connolly, having earned this distinction every year since 2004.
