Blue Branch Ltd Joins Hundreds of Scottish Businesses in Boosting Recruitment

After a recent study found that businesses in Scotland are the most likely to up their game when it comes to recruitment in 2015, Blue Branch share why they are keen to boost recruitment and why it's so positive to see a thriving job market.

EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND, April 24, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A new study into UK recruitment has found that the labour market in Scotland is due to heat up substantially in 2015. Blue Branch, a sales and marketing firm from Edinburgh believe this could mark the beginning of an exciting time for Scottish businesses. Conducted by Robert Half UK the study held over 2000 interviews with HR professionals to identify what hiring procedures, processes and strategies companies across the UK plan to implement in 2015. For the first time since the recession, highly skilled workers will be able to take their pick of companies as more and more organisations plan to grow their workforces in order to boost productivity and development. With skilled workers in such high demand, businesses are set to see themselves head to head against competing firms not only when it comes to attracting new workers, but in order to retain their top talent.

The study found that Scotland stands to have the most competitive job market in 2015, with many businesses warned to up their game when it comes to recruitment. At least 40% of companies surveyed stated that they would be looking to increase their number of permanent staff in the first part of 2015. This level of growth is great news for Scotland, putting them on par with the economic hub of London where 58% of companies were reported to be looking to increase the hiring of permanent staff. The results of the study suggest that Scotland as a whole is on track to experience a huge economic boost with the majority of businesses expected to expand to some degree in 2015. The thriving job market also holds many other economic benefits, with more workers in highly skilled, well paid roles; more funds are entering local economies through taxes as well as an increase in consumer spending as with more people in employment, disposable income is set to rise.

Despite the bustling job market being a great asset to highly skilled workers, Blue Branch are slightly concerned that 2015 could be less than rosy for younger, inexperienced workers. With so many companies focused on fighting over experienced workers the firm are concerned that despite their passion and tenacity younger workers may be overlooked for certain roles. Blue Branch are adamant that in order to avoid a skills shortage and a stunt in their growth plans it's important for businesses to be less focused on experience when hiring. Instead they should embrace raw talent and assess each person on their potential, rather than their previous experience. As trailblazers of this way of thinking the firm are also looking to boost their recruitment this year in order to expand their market reach in Scotland. The firm are keen to promote the benefits of recruiting a young workforce and as such are keen to hear from candidates with drive and passion, regardless of their experience level.
