In a statement to the Standard, Clive Schlee stated: 'we looked at loyalty cards but we didn't want to spend all that money building up some complicated Clubcard-style analysis' (Standard.co.uk 23rd April 2015). The staff at Pret A Manger has to give away a certain number of hot drinks and food every week which results in 28% of people receiving an item for free.
