National Association of Distinguished Professionals Selects Yvette R. Terry as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

Ms. Terry will be featured in the upcoming edition of the NADP Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015.



    BOSTON, MA, April 30, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Yvette Terry, Founder and Owner of DivineDesign Professional Resume Writing Center and Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for the Division of Student Affairs at The University of Massachusetts Boston, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through the National Association of Distinguished Professionals. Ms. Terry will be featured in the upcoming edition of the NADP Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015.

With over 12 years' experience supporting business leaders, including two founders and CEOs, a chief information officer, a president and CEO, and several vice-presidents, Yvette Terry has established herself as a leader in the executive support administration field. Her career achievements include successfully managing 30+ training program courses, administrative support for a department of 144 staff, and managing a 19-person board of directors.

Currently, Ms. Terry supports the vice chancellor for the Department of Student Affairs at The University of Massachusetts Boston as their executive assistant. The division of student affairs has nine departments with more than 100 staff members, and Ms. Terry oversees communications, meetings, division events, and planning for the vice chancellor's office. She also supports students' academic success and supervises three student workers.

In 2003, Ms. Terry simultaneously opened her own consulting business, DivineDesign Professional Resume Writing Center, where she helps clients with their career marketing tools and offers professional development tools, ideas, and inspiration.

"Being proactive about my professional development has greatly contributed to my success," Ms. Terry said. "I love learning and I've spent my own money to buy books and a home computer, attend seminars and workshops, and take courses that would take my skills and knowledge to the next level."

Earning her Associate's Degree in general studies at Urban College of Boston and a Bachelor's Degree in Management at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Ms. Terry is now pursing her Master's Degree in Instructional Design while juggling work full-time. She is the producer of a show, called 'Professional Development: It Begins With You', which was created at the local community television station, Boston Neighborhood Network, and reaches an audience of over 300,000 area residents.

Ms. Terry is the recipient of a Strive to Learn Award from a former employee, an award that is given to those who demonstrated a thirst to learn and reach their full potential. She is now in the process of writing her first book, an empowerment piece that will highlight how she created a career as a professional executive assistant, started her business, her academic journey, and much more, as a way to empower other women to pursue their dreams.
