San Francisco Rock'n'Roll Band, "Down in Front," Conducts National Donut Day Tour

All-female rock trio helps revitalize the spirit of San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 03, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In an effort to bring back a fun, freedom and peace-loving spirit to the streets of San Francisco, the all female rock'n'roll trio, "Down in Front" will perform at a baker's dozen of donut shops on Friday, June 5th in celebration of National Donut Day. The band will travel and perform on the back of a pickup truck that will be outfitted as a full concert performance stage.

The band, whose first full length album is entitled, "Down in Front does The Donut Shop" consists of local multi-instrumentalists Japa Kaur, Julie Andrews and Deona "STX" Parfet, on drums. The title track of their album, "The Donut Shop" written by the band's primary songwriter, Japa Kaur, features the lyric, "Why can't men be like donuts in a donut shop, all lined up in little plastic trays? You check the flavors, pick one out, so many donuts, so few days."

"We are stoked," says Japa. "Donuts have been a part of my life since I was a kid. Before we were old enough to drink, there was nowhere else to go at night, so we'd end up at the 24-hour donut shop. It's not just donuts. It's about community. It's about peace and love and just having a good time."

The band will play at 13 donut shops throughout the Bay Area, beginning in San Carlos at 10am. The tour will continue up the Peninsula, play at a variety of donut shops in San Francisco, then on to Berkeley, and finishing up at Lakeshore Avenue in Oakland. A full lineup of their tour can be found at the band's website, You can also be informed of their whereabouts by following them on Twitter or by liking them on Facebook.
