National Association of Distinguished Professionals Selects Erin Conway as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

Erin Conway will be featured in the upcoming edition of the NADP Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015.

FALLSINGTON, PA, July 03, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Erin Conway, Co-Founder and Head of Montessori Cottage, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through the National Association of Distinguished Professionals. Erin Conway will be featured in the upcoming edition of the NADP Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015.

Beginning her career in 1991 as an assistant teacher at Pennington Montessori preschool, Erin Conway knew that she wanted to work with young children. Taking on new responsibilities as head teacher by 1994, a position she kept until 2000, Ms. Conway then co-founded Montessori Cottage. Working in a variety of capacities, including head toddler teacher and as a field consultant for the Princeton Center for Teacher Education and the Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies, she is the face behind Montessori Cottage, a school she has worked so hard to represent.

Ms. Conway is of the opinion that younger a child is when self-confidence and a love of learning is instilled, the better the chance for longevity.

"I believe in the Montessori philosophy with my heart and soul and I honestly believe that children who are fortunate enough to have a Montessori education experience have an unshakable foundation for lifelong learning," she said.

Serving as the sounding board of Montessori Cottage, Ms. Conway's roles include administrator, teacher, mentor, parent educator, and community educator. She also stays current on child development and makes sure that the staff is up to date on all of the latest information. She is a great advocate of teacher development and with the mandatory minimum of six hours annually in the state of Pennsylvania, Ms. Conway currently has over 50 hours.

Ms. Conway's dream is to see every child have the option of a Montessori education, particularly at the preschool level when development is so rapid. To her, this industry is more than just a career, it is a passion.

Ms. Conway holds a BS in Humanities/Child Development Services, a Master's in Education, and an Infant/Toddler American Montessori Certification. Her school is a full affiliate of the American Montessori Society where she serves as a member. The Philadelphia area schools, including Ms. Conway's, had the pleasure of hosting the National American Montessori Conference in Philadelphia in March 2014 where more than 4,000 people from all over the world attended. She is also an active member of a Pennsylvania Heads of School group and the Pennsylvania Montessori Teachers Association.
